Why have your skis or board serviced?
The importance of ski or board service is to combat base distortion and wear which will affect your skis or boards performance.
Bases suffer from scrapes and gouges where we have gone over stones or rocks, the edges suffer from burrs, nicks and rust can appear after use, which diminishes edge grip. Waxing bases protects them from moisture penetrating the base and will create more of a glide effect over the snow giving you a smoother, faster run.
We use a Montana Crystal Glide Stone Grinder
Our Montana Crystal Glide stone grinder grinds a unique diamond structured base pattern to optimize gliding performance. If required the base pattern can be adjusted to suit particular snow conditions.
This results is optimal ski performance, full carving effect plus increased safety and turning properties.
All services are carried out in our in-store workshop (pictured left) by experienced technicians who will be pleased to advise on your equipment if required.
Please note: do try and bring your skis and boards in / or contact us early to make sure we can fit them in. Ski service gets very busy and we often meet our maximum capacity.
Skis - Full Service £38 (wider skis 90mm + £42)
- Clean base of skis with wax remover
- Inspection of base and edges
- Repair damage to base such as scrapes and gouges with PTex gun
- Lightly sand bases using fine belt on belt sander
- Montana Crystal Glide stone grind for a flat base with unique diamond structured base pattern
- Grind edges to standard specification unless otherwise requested
- Hand detuning of edges at tip and tail
- Hot machine wax with hand wax finish
- Remove surplus wax and polish
- Finish with Teflon
- Clean top of skis
- Visual inspection of bindings for damage
Skis - Edge and wax £25
- Clean base of skis with wax remover
- Inspection of base and edges

- Hand detuning of edges at tip and tail
